These chess-boards were designed with slightly beveled upward edges, providing a beautiful sense of "lift". The dramatic interplay of Wenge, (and deep-brown, richly striated African wood), and American Curly Rock-Maple truly enhance the board's linear character. All corners are softened by a slight hand-sanded round-over edge. The playing-squares are 1-3/4" x 1-3/4", accommodating the majority of standard chess-piece dimensions. All boards are finished with Danish-Oil and Bri-Wax, providing a lustrous yet smooth and supple surface for game-play.
