Greetings friends. 

Matt Lillemoen here.  I'm the owner, designer and builder here at Ecliptic Woodworks.  I've been a professional woodworker for the past 25 years, having worked with a variety of disciplines, products and styles over that period. I began my career as a bass-guitar luthier, (guitar builder), back in the 90's after graduating from Guitar Hospital luthierie school in Michigan.  As Ecliptic Bass Co., I designed and built custom bass-guitars for over a decade. 

Over time, I began to develop an interest in unique furniture designs; mainly with Japanese and Scandinavian influences.  Driven to develop a unique, personalized design-style in this new realm, side-projects were now starting to take precedence, becoming the focal point of my creative endeavors.  Ultimately, bass-guitar building went by the wayside.  My work now was solely focused on the designing and building of custom, hand-crafted hardwood furniture. This was the case for the next 6 years.

Unfortunately for us all, the economy slowly began to dwindle, and it became clear that I may need to shift gears...again.  I decided to develop a line of products more feasible and popular to the mainstream consumer; kitchen-wares.  I began designing and producing a wide variety of hardwood kitchen items, (i.e. cutting-boards, cheese-boards, salt & pepper boxes, etc.). Over the past few years, I've been selling these products both in stores and online.

Throughout my past as a designer and woodworker, I've often been inspired to come up with unique gift-items for friends and relatives, (and enthusiastic customers).  Over time, a wide range of items have come off the drawing board and are now available here!  There are a variety of intricately hand-sculpted pendants with individual themes of motivation and inspiration.  The attractive, Asian influenced, Celestia Jewelry-Boxes have an allure that begs a closer look.  A regal chess-board perhaps?  Or maybe a modernist desk-clock?  All items are original Ecliptic Woodworks creations, designed to appeal to both hand and eye.
